2011 John Ilhan Tribute Lunch
Our major fundraising event of the year, the Annual John Ilhan Tribute Lunch was held on Friday 12 August in the Members Dining at the iconic MCG. It was a wonderful success and well supported with over 400 people attending.
Special thanks to AFL CEO, Andrew Demetriou who was our keynote speaker for the afternoon, along with Channel 9's James Brayshaw, our generous MC. Also, we thank Jonathan Dixon of JP Dixon our wonderful auctioneer for the afternoon. Another highlight was the performance of Mary Coustas' "Effie".
We would also like to gratefully acknowledge our generous Sponsors - Channel 9, JP Dixon, Crown, Doncaster BMW, NAB, Emirates, Bulgari, Bupa, Rolex Grima and Vinci Carbone.
The Event would not have happened without the support of The Rotary Club of Brighton. We gratefully acknowledge the Committee: David Efron, Pat Kearns and Graeme Watson who so generously gave up their time and efforts in the lead up to the day, to make this event such a success. We thank them.
Funds raised will go towards the Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation's fight against food allergies, and charities supported by the Rotary Club of Brighton including the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre.
2011 International Scientific Conference
In April 2011, the Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation hosted the 2011 Scientific Conference in Melbourne at NAB Head Office. We were priviledged to have Professor Clare Mills who is the Leader of the Europrevall project, a European Union funded study of food allergy in Europe as our keynote speaker, as well as hearing from leading national experts in the field from all over Australia. This event was a great success and helped foster links with our leading researchers and clinicians in Australia and our counterparts in Euorpe. It was well attended by 80 researchers from across Australia. The Ilhan Food Allergy Foundation thanks everyone for their attendance and contribution to a very successful Conference.
